Philippe Faraut

Born in the French Alps, Philippe Faraut’s passion for sculpting began with wood in his early childhood. After receiving a degree in fine furniture making, he traveled extensively, constantly inspired by the cultures and local people.
By 1994, he and his wife Charisse created their porcelain doll company, PCF Studios, Inc. whose designs include children of many nationalities.
In addition to being a devoted sculpting teacher, Philippe's latest passion is carving contemporary portraiture in marble.

Classes & Seminars:

    Sculpting Classes

    Description of Classes:
Three day sculpting and mold making classes include lectures on anatomy, emphasizing bone structure and discussions on expression and ethnic differences. Two days of intensive work are spent on sculpting a head in water base clay with step-by-step demonstrations, while the last day is reserved for mold making. Students, who prefer, may work on a bust for the full three days. Philippe will also explain the different types of molds and their uses in the doll making and bronze industries. Due to small class size, students receive plenty of one to one instruction, while still being encouraged to explore their own styles.

5-day classes are offered at The Loveland Academy of Fine Art in Colorado and at PCF Studios in New York.
